Experience a life-changing mission trip to Dakar, Senegal, designed for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have been a part of Super Summer Alabama. In partnership with the International Mission Board (IMB), this trip is an opportunity to deepen your faith and make a global impact.

What to Expect:

  • Community Engagement: Step outside your comfort zone and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Dakar. You’ll have the chance to develop genuine relationships with people in the community, learning from their stories and sharing your own.
  • Gospel Conversations: Engage in meaningful, gospel-centered conversations, sharing your personal testimony and the hope of Jesus Christ with those who have never heard it.
  • Bible Stories: Learn how to effectively communicate biblical truths through storytelling, making the Word of God accessible and relevant to a new audience.
  • Personal Growth: This experience will challenge you to grow immensely in your faith. You will be pushed to rely on God in new ways, developing leadership and discipleship skills that will last a lifetime.

This mission trip is an extension of the discipleship and leadership training you’ve received at Super Summer Alabama, providing a practical, real-world application of your faith. Get ready to be stretched, to see God work in powerful ways, and to become a part of His global mission.

Open to Super Summer students in 10th to 12th Grades and College Students

Cultural Considerations: Dakar, a bustling coastal city in West Africa, is a place where strong relationships and warm hospitality are at the heart of the culture. As you prepare to join us, keep in mind that you’re entering a community that is over 95% Muslim. The remaining population is primarily Catholic, with less than 1% being evangelical Christians. Our work is centered at the Baptist Center in a poor, densely populated, and rapidly growing neighborhood.

Dress and Decorum: To show respect for the local culture and religious customs, it’s essential to dress modestly and appropriately. This is particularly important because our ministry often involves visiting people in their homes and participating in cultural events.

  • For women: Please wear skirts that fall below the knee or pants. Shirts should fully cover your posterior when your arms are stretched above your head.
  • For men: Long pants are required for daily ministry activities. Shorts should only be worn for sports or exercise.

Your thoughtful attention to these details helps us honor our hosts and build trusting relationships within the community.

Cost: $2500 | Deposit: $200 (Due November 20)
